How to disable the start up programs (in WinXP)?

This may be too easy for IT savy people. But is quite useful if you haven't come across this.

The small icons seen on the system tray are the programs running in the background. Some of them are ran automatically when you login to windows. However, you can disallow them from running automatically.

1. Click on "Start" button
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in msconfig
4. Click "OK"
5. Click on "Start up" tab

6. Uncheck the program you want to stop fro running automatically when you login.
7. Click "Apply"
8. Click "Ok"
9. Restart when prompted.
